45. VOTE

I voted!!!
I didn’t get a photo because
a) I forgot my camera
b) I was going to take a photo wearing my super cool “I voted!” sticker but, THEY DIDN’T GIVE ME ONE!
I didn’t even see any around.

Why is this on my list?: I feel like it is my privilege and duty as an American

How did I do it?: My town offers early voting and I work about two blocks from the courthouse. So, I took a little walk down there on my lunch break. It all took about 30 minutes and I was the youngest person there.

How did it feel?: Like I am a part of something. And If the other guy gets elected and F's up, I can freely complain LOL!!

Witchy Woman

Well here I am in all my glory. Trying to get up the nerve to actually wear this getup in public...
Don't mind the red nose. I came down with a head cold today along with the female flu. WOO HOO!!!

My Halloween costume came in and... it fits!! I was worried that I was too fat for it but it just fits! A promised me that I don't look like a stuffed sausage so I will be going out in public in my "Love Spell Witch" costume. I do need some spankies or something for when I bend over the tables at work (I'm a busser for you filthy minded people!!). I'll take photos later.

Sugar High

Uncle B came in to town for the weekend so D and I made some Halloween cookies. Yum-O! D was a big fan of the black icing as you can tell by the photo of her teeth.

A bought the new Guitar Hero game so he and Uncle B are bonding over a wireless guitar and plastic drums.

Sis, Mom and I had a good time too. I miss having my sis in the same town but I am in no position to move any time soon and neither is she. :sigh:

Boring post, cute photos and a nice weekend over all.

Please flush after you go poop.

It's a biggun'

It was a busy weekend and it’s been a busy week so far.
Let’s see, what should I blog about first…?

What about this;
#98. Do something extra special for A each month.
When I was in Lowe’s on Saturday I picked up a “How to” book on plumbing. A really wants to re-do the bathroom on his own. I thought a DIY book would be perfect. I was right. He has been pouring over it ever since I gave it to him.

A and I got a lot of the Halloween decorations up this weekend. He was going for a “Cocoon” type look for the front porch area. I think he achieved his goal. He fell in love with the spider he bought and decided to incorporate it into his costume this year. I think the yard looks great so far!

I found out that I have to work my night job on Halloween so I won’t be able to do #38. Go trick or treating if we have D and if not, hand out candy. Hopefully I can do this next year. I will be able to #37. Dress up for Halloween at the night job only. I want to be something simple because I will only have 15 minutes to change and get to the night job. I want to buy some cat ears and tail but anything remotely cute that I found on the Internet is sold out. I may have to figure something else out.

Piper has been having very bad allergies lately. She has rubbed her muzzle and ears to the point of bleeding. I took her off prednisone because it was making her fat. The Vet told me to try Benadryl instead. She has been on Benadryl for almost a week but her allergies are just getting worse. I took her into the vet yesterday and, $130 later, she had to have a prednisone shot, a treatment for mites (just incase, because it is cheaper to treat for it then test for it) and a butt load of special diet dog food. I was also told that she should be getting 100mgs of Benadryl twice a day. Not the 25mgs I was giving her. She is to have her special food and ONLY her food (no treats, table scraps, raw hide, etc.) for 2 months to see if her allergy is due to food. OH! AND! She gained a pound!! I have been walking her every day and took her of prednisone and she gains a pound??? :sigh:

On an up side, A and BioMom went to a parent-teacher conference and D is doing extremely well! Out of the 150 words she must know how to spell by site by the end of the year, she knows 140. It's only the first quarter! She is reading and comprehending at level 12 out of 18 (18 being the goal by the end of the year). I am so stinkin' proud of the little smartie pants! I wish I could give myself some credit (HA-HA) but grilling her on the spelling words is as far as it goes.

All in all things are going well. It’s a “D” weekend and Sis may come for a visit so that should be fun.

You will always be my Boo

D's hair turned out really cute. A said I did an awesome job but still no word from her mom on what she thought.

I don't know what it is, maybe because I have a kidlette around, but I am super excited for Halloween this year. A and I bought some decorations at Wal-Mart that we have yet to put up. A couple different people have given me craft ideas to try out and I just found out that I am allowed to dress up for my night job! What to be, what to be...?

There was an early trick-or-treater on my lawn this afternoon. I told him that I won't have candy until the 31st but he just won't leave...

P.S. I finally, FINALLY sent R her package today. So R, if you are reading this, turn on the pool vacuum and get ready to sing!

Day 16

Yesterday, for the first time in who knows how long, my gums didn't bleed when I flossed. It may seem trivial to you but it's a huge deal to me!

Good news on the work front:
I have been helping out a lot with our mother branch since they are short a few people. I have pretty much been working my tail off for a few months now. Someone at that branch made a really sweet comment about me and I shared it with my boss. She was so proud of me that she told the president & CEO of the bank about it and now they want to take me to lunch for a job well done! This is a first for me and it makes me feel like my hard work is paying off.

Tomorrow is picture day at D's school. I get to dress her up and her mom asked me to curl her hair. I am stoked. I just hope I can make her hair look as pretty as she is so her mom wont regret putting me in charge of her hair...

Day 14

#9 Make the Cd's I promised for my mom & A’s mom

Why is this on my list?: A's mom loves ABBA and I just happen to have the ABBA GOLD CDs. My mom, who is a media w**** like I am, wanted to know how Paris, Nicole, Lindsay & Heidi sound.

How did I do it?: Using Roxio CD Creator

How did it feel?: Good to finally get them done. I just hope the CD I made for my mom won't make her ears bleed!

Yes I changed the layout again...

My little family had an amazing weekend.

On Saturday we went to Lowe’s for the Build and Grow workshop where D made a glow-in-the-dark skeleton she named Spooky Alvin Theodore. I asked her if that was short for Spooky Alvin Simon Theodore Hannah Montana Mary-Kate and Ashley but she said, “No”.

After that we stopped by a car show and D ate a free hot dog while A schmoozed with some of his customers.

Then we were off to the Berry Farm with our neighbor/friends and their little girl. We picked
pumpkins, took a hay ride, pet mini horses, ran through the corn maze and played on the “fun hills” (which are just a few huge mounds of saw dust).

We went to family dinner and then back to the neighbors to carve our pumpkins. A hasn’t finished his so I’ll post photos later.

I ended up having the worst head ache I’ve ever had and was miserable and puking the rest of the night.

Needless to say we had a pretty chill Sunday. D made a few treasure maps so we did go on an adventure slaying snake monsters with umbrellas and bubble blowers.

said that the Berry Farm experience should cover #88 Do something seriously hillbilly/redneck but I was thinking of something along the lines of leaving the dishwasher on the front yard for a month or attending a wedding in full camo… I think I’ll leave it on the list for now.

Day 10

I wasn’t there when D first saw her room. A sent me a text letting me know that D said, “Oh my goodness! Look at my pretty new room!” She had a lot of fun sticking up her wallies.

I realized that on a normal computer screen (mine is a wide screen) my blog looks just fine. I think I will stick with this layout for a while. I guess that means I completed: #92 Make this blog more "me"

Why is this on my list?: I am never satisfied with the basic layout.

How did I do it?: I Googled “free blogspot layouts” until I came across one I really liked.

How did it feel?: Unsure. I really like the idea of the diary. I just wish I was better at editing HTML or whatever.

Day 9

The daily things are going well. I am still taking the multi vitamin but I don’t feel any different. Piper enjoys her walks and getting up earlier helps me get to work on time.

Last night I finished #5 Paint/decorate D's Room

Why is this on my list?: Because the walls were a wine color & the room was a cluttered mess. Very UN-kid friendly.

How did I do it?: I bought paint in the shade of “Rosy Cheeks” and a cute little rug from Lowe’s. A and I hung the shelves my Dad made and A also figured out how to turn the TV into a monitor for the computer. I also bought some removable “Wallies” for D to put up how ever she likes. A was going to get a new ceiling fan but Lowe’s sold out of the one he wanted. The old one will have to do for now.

How did it feel?: It was hard work doing the painting. I was suffering from the “Female Flu” and got overly emotional a few times but I am so happy with how it turned out and I can’t wait to see what D thinks of it.

#51 Start taking a multi vitamin

Why is this on my list?: Because I know I don't eat healthy enough to go with out vitamins.

How did I do it?: I went to Wal-Mart and purchased the generic version of One-A-Day for women, stuck one in my mouth and swallowed it with tea.

How did it feel?: I don't feel anything yet. Hopefully I will have more energy or something later on IF I remember to keep taking them!

Today I was Maid of Honor in the wedding of Shinesse Madison to Seven Jimenez in Second Life. It was a amazing experience and I was very thankful to be a part of it. Here is a photo of the happy couple.

Day Three

Doesn’t Piper look so cute in her coat?!

Well, I failed #16. I was 2 minutes late to work today because I couldn’t find my keys. I am disappointed because this was really important to me. I am still going to try and get to work on time for the remainder of the challenge.

The Wii didn’t get hooked up when we got the new TV so I will start working out on it this weekend. A hooked up the Wii for me last night and made me get on to at least weigh myself. I weighed 184.5 at 8:30 last night. That isn’t too bad since I have been in the 190s lately.

I am still experimenting with blog layouts. I really like this one because it’s the look I want and it’s easy to edit but it’s so dang small and the comments aren’t showing up.
Hopefully the weekend will be more exciting...

Day Two

There is nothing exciting to report for Day Two.
I did all my little daily things so that is a plus. I was going to finish working on my blog at lunch but when I came home the house was so cold, Piper was just shivering. I spent my lunch watching “Privileged” and trying to warm up my pooch.

I read Lisa’s blog so I was tagged with; 6 Quirky Things About Me

Here are my 6 quirky (possibly psychotic/OCD) things;
1. I bite my fingernails then put tape on them when they hurt.
2. If I wear my hair up in public I have to have a collared shirt or hoodie on.
3. I constantly write lists and notes for myself on post-its but then loose the post-its.
4. I am addicted to the tabloids. (OMG Britney did what??)
5. Every time I back out of the carport I hit the ginormous bush to the side of my driveway. My side mirror goes DOING! and usually has leaves stuck to it.
6. I hate driving.

Now it’s your turn.
What are 6 quirky things about you?

P.S. I had a mammogram last week. The nurse just called and it was clear! Yay boobies!

Day One

Today I started my 101 things challenge and it started with a bang.
I woke up earlier than usual (but not “early” by any means) and took Piper for a walk.
It is starting to get chilly here so I was wide awake by the time we got back.
I was able to make it to work on time and read Psalm 1:1-6 when I got there.

I emailed the list to my sister and she wrote back saying, “I have already started mine since you inspired me, so you can mark off number 99” ! Yay! The first item to be marked off! Thanks Sis!

Here is a little info for you to help track the progress of some of my items;

#12 Piper is 83lbs I have to speak with the Vet about how much she should weigh but she is definantly too big right now. She is a Boxer/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix. The Vet told me I should be able to “see some ribs” and she should not “have utters”.

#36 Per Wii fit, I am ***lbs today

#43 I work a second job Wed-Friday. It may not seem like a lot but it does take a lot of time away from my loved ones.

The final day of my challenge is June 29, 2011.
P.S. I like this layout but I am having issues getting it to look right...
